I can’t believe I’m saying this. All of you wonderful readers out there have contributed over the years, and today I can proudly say that my personal Author website has achieved 100,000 views!
My apologies to those of you who have been eagerly waiting to hear from me. My posts have become very infrequent over the past few years since the pandemic started. But rest assured, I’m still here! Alive and well.
In fact, I moved my family out of the city and to a mini farm! We love it here. It’s so quiet and peaceful. We have chickens, goats, a bunny (long story I’ll have to tell you another time), two cats, two dogs, and a cow (well, a calf really- but she’s really sweet and acts like a dog 😂)! We also used to have a ton of quail, but they were far more work than it was worth. Oh, and don’t even get me started on the ducks! That’s didn’t last more than a few weeks. Sure they’re cute, but they are so messy! Chandler and Joey on Friends must have had quite a time keeping their apartment clean! 🤣
I also recently tilled up a large area of our yard, and my gorgeous wife has been very dedicated and has planted a large garden with a full drip system and all! I’m very proud of the progress she’s made.
I also attempted to help with the garden by partially building a hoop house… but I took too long to make it and now there’s no more frost so it’s kinda useless. At least, until winter comes anyway. I’m sure we’ll be grateful for it when fall comes… but I digress. I went way over budget with that project unfortunately, and money is tight right now – as it is for everyone with this crazy inflation!
In other news, I recently recovered from what I’m calling ‘another farm injury’. Total freak accident. I was out trying to organize our shed when a piece of a dog crate fell down from the rafters and hooked me in the eye. Yeah – my eye! But the good news is by some miracle it only injured my eyelid – not my eye itself! So I got to be a pirate for a few weeks. My kids thought it was very amusing ☺️
Anyway, that’s my crazy life lately. Thank you all again for following my blog! I’ll try to be more consistent and keep you up on the latest news.
